GIP Option A — Business Investment SGD 10,000,000

Option A requires the applicant to invest at least SGD 10,000,000 in a new business entity or expand an existing Singapore-based business in a key strategic sector. The investor must hold a substantial equity stake and take an active management role in the business.

To qualify for re-entry permit renewal after the initial five-year period, the investor must hire at least 30 employees, of whom at least half must be Singaporean citizens, and at least 10 must be new hires if the business was already in existence.

Applicants must also have a strong track record as a founder or key executive of a company with annual revenue of at least SGD 200,000,000 in the last 3 years.

Option B allows investors to invest SGD 25,000,000 in a GIP-approved fund that invests in Singapore-based companies. This is an attractive option for investors who prefer a managed, passive investment approach rather than direct business ownership.

GIP-approved funds are carefully vetted by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and must maintain a significant portion of their portfolio invested in Singapore-based companies.

Applicants must still demonstrate a strong business background as a founder or senior executive of a qualifying company, but do not need to actively manage a business in Singapore.

To qualify for re-entry permit renewal at the end of the five-year period, the SFO must hire at least 5 incremental family office professionals, of whom at least 3 must be Singaporean citizens.

Singapore Citizenship Policy

!
Single Citizenship — No Dual Nationality
Singapore does not allow dual citizenship, and this rule is strictly enforced. Upon obtaining Singaporean citizenship, applicants must renounce all other citizenships they hold. Singapore citizenship is therefore best suited for investors who are prepared to fully commit to Singapore as their primary nationality.
Parents and unmarried children of the investor aged 21 and above are not eligible to be included in the PR application, but may instead apply for a 5-year Long-Term Visit Pass. Male dependents who become PR or citizens will also be liable for national service.
